Issuing a drawing set: the register and the contents sheet
Updated 26 October 2026 · from SiteHelm
Most mistakes on site come from someone working to an old drawing. A tidy issue, with a register of what’s current, stops that.
What goes in an issue
- The latest revision of every drawing, and nothing older.
- A contents sheet or register at the front: drawing number, title, revision and status.
- The date of issue and who it’s for.
Check the codes
Before issuing for construction, check every sheet’s revision and status. A P revision or an S status isn’t for building from. Our guide to revision and status codes explains them.
Take the old ones out
When a new issue goes out, collect or mark the old drawings superseded. A SUPERSEDED stamp across the old sheet is quick and obvious.

Combine drawing sets does the sorting: drop in every revision you have, and it keeps the latest of each drawing, puts them in drawing-number order and adds a contents page with drawing, revision and page. To print the set in one go, sorted by sheet size, use Batch Print.
